Derek’s House Dedication

Congratulations to Yolette and her daughters! We dedicated Derek’s House on Saturday, May 22. All that’s left is to close on the home and she and her daughters can begin their new life! Many thanks to our build partners – Buncombe Street UMC, First Presbyterian Greenville, Furman University HFH Campus Chapter, John Knox Presbyterian, and the family and friends of Derek Ledford - we couldn’t do it without you. And to the family and friends of Derek Ledford, this home is a tribute and a memorial to Derek in a way that will continue to bless Yolette and her daughters for many years to come, keeping Derek’s spirit and memory very much alive!

Volunteers put up siding and worked on insulating the house this weekend. Thanks for being such good sports and working in the rain and the mud!

This weekend, volunteers finished the framing, set trusses, put on the roof, wrapped the house, and installed the doors and windows!
